WoW Upgrades - The item level Upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the Best item upgrade that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade item your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current level of the item upgrades, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character that will be able to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
