WoW Upgrades - The item upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The Item Level Upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item level upgrade upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true even if those items are from another set of equipment.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item upgrader level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For example, once an Best item upgrade is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
