The S1 Pro's navigation and mapping are top-quality, with the internal dToF LiDAR system allowing it to maintain a low profile while still providing top-quality objects avoidance. It drives close to walls without hitting them and avoids steps, and can also raise its mop when it drives over rugs and short-pile carpets. It was a bit shaky when it came across longer-pile carpets and also some long, thick piles of dried-on debris.

Like many robots that are available, the S1 Pro comes ready to come out of the box, and requires only an initial mapping session to figure out how it can navigate your home.
