It's also more flexible than the predecessor, with 11 different height settings and legs that retract to place under any bed.

Our testers loved the ease of access offered by the side panel, which can be moved upwards and down with one click of a button. This was a huge benefit in feedings at night as it meant that they could reach into and take their baby away without waking them up.

The side panel can be removed on its own, but it's not recommended since it increases the risk of your child falling out of the cot. But, the patented safety locking mechanism means that it will only remain in place if it is connected to the parent's bed correctly. This is a wonderful feature to have in place for peace of mind, especially when you're breastfeeding and need frequent night feeds.

Telescopic legs allow the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed including divan bases or beds with drawers. It has a tilting feature to help reflux babies, and a rocking function to help soothe them to sleep after a meal. It is also very spacious and has excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.

Our testers found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, however it does have quite lengthy instructions. It's heavier than other side-sleepers, however it's very mobile and can be moved from room to room easily. It's small enough to fit into a travel bag when not in use which is an advantage in the event that you have to transport it. The only issue our testers noticed was that the side panel didn't flex as much as some of the other models, which made it slightly harder to see your baby from your bed.
