Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one session, without having to switch devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and best automatic vacuum cleaner well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You could, for instance ask the robot vacuum cleaners best to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models cannot. The only drawback is that the robot is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood, though we would like to be able to differentiate between a mop only automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other best robotic mop and vacuum cleaners may miss.

The Roborock model, just like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its course automatically and clean around the objects without stumbling.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular style is striking and has only three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. Additionally the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another notable feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. The robot can also reach under furniture with low profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots, which is a nice feature that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have a number of features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mop, utilizes two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There's a wealth of settings on offer that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with several features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg however it's not overly heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
