Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins with both internal and external doors generally having different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this is contingent on the way your doors and handles are utilized. Doors that are external, for instance, should be fitted with cylinders with greater security while internal doors can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can improve security, such as anti-drill or anti bump properties.

To make sure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it should be measured correctly. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this with the lock in place, but if this is not possible, you may remove it to measure. It is important to ensure that there is no cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

The design of most newer cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in the opposite direction. This can help prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.

Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a quicker and easier way to gain access than using the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which can hinder insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is located within the base plate of your door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to bring your multipoint lock handles to their resting position after usage.
