It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad to a dry one in just a few seconds.

With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our tests. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot vacuum cleaner best we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing some more volume and a little more cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or create a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums uk vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better.
