The Item Upgrader in World of Warcraft

The War Within introduced Valorstones, and Harbinger Crests as two currencies to upgrade gear. They can be exchanged at the NPCs who upgrade items, Cuzolth and Vaskarn.

Each item can be upgraded to its maximum level for a given slot at a time. Afterward upgrades to that slot will be cheaper. Additionally the pity system introduced with The War Within lowers extreme variation in the chance to upgrade.

Upgrades

The other drawback is that upgrades are expensive. Each step up a gear's upgrade level is a specific amount of Valorstones and crests, based on the item's slot and item level. Weapons, for instance, require more Valorstones and crests to upgrade. There are however, some cash shop items that could lower the cost of upgrading.

Recycles
