World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade equipment that they already own. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.

Upgrades boost the stats of an item and add extras based on its type. Examples include Whistan’s shield for FB Sorcs or Goldwraps for casting builds.

Armour

Link's armor is a key factor in keeping him safe from harm. While it cannot be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in different ways to enhance its defense capabilities.

The basic idea of armour is to safeguard animals or people from physical harm or injury, either from direct physical assault or from an array of dangers posed by the environment and activities. Historically, most armour was made of fabric or leather, but metal protections were also utilized particularly for military purposes like heavy cavalry or combat drones.

As with weapons, there are a number of ways in which armor can be upgraded however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a distinct level of upgrade with higher levels of protection requiring more rupees and materials.

First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place they aren't able to be removed in the event that you own a piece of gear with the same upgrade. You should only apply the most advanced upgrades to your equipment, and ensure that you have the equipment needed to complete the process.

For those who want to acquire the required upgrade components to upgrade your character, they are available in various locations around Hyrule, including merchants, shrines, and even enemies. These will generally be marked with a gold circle or a blue triangle, and will be available in large quantities as you progress through the game. Although they can appear randomly, there is a chance that acquiring certain upgrade components will lead to quests that reward you with more.

It's also worth noting that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade varies, it is the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armour will grant you a high defense boost that will protect you from all types of attacks, except magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.

Weapons

If you're looking to make your guns truly distinctive, you can upgrade them with a variety upgrades. They can increase the damage, alter the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your particular build, and even unlock new attachments such as unique enchantments, ammo types and other options for aesthetics.

To upgrade a weapon, you'll require an upgrade item component in place and the Item upgrade itself. The weapon must also be at or above a certain point for the upgrade to be effective and the majority of weapons can only accept one upgrade at one time.

There are weapons upgrade components scattered throughout the globe and even from enemies and can be bought from a merchant. Upgrade components are a mix of ingredients that you can slot into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools in order to gain an attribute bonus. They require the equipment to be of a certain degree to be able to take the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.

The upgrades themselves are a combination of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they are used to improve the stats of the base weapon and enhancing its scale with other stats. These upgrades can be purchased from enemies in the open or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.

There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.

Prioritize upgrading your Best item upgrader-in slot items first. Then, upgrade items the items that you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. If you're playing in a melee-based build, for instance upgrade your weapon first, then your shoulders and chest before your hands and feet. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some procs may be better than others, based on your style of play. The same goes for Armour Reforges, with certain types being superior to others.

Magic Items

A character can only upgrade one magic item at a time. If an upgrade plan is cancelled then any subsequent upgrades for the item will not start. Magic items that are upgraded cost twice the amount of gold they normally cost to make or purchase however, they also offer additional advantages.

A magical Best item upgrader can be any item with special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, but some include armor, shields and cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings and other objects. Certain of these items can be made to speak.

Most magic items can have their abilities enhanced. This can make them more useful to players, or could help them conquer a particularly challenging encounter. A weapon that contains some special substance could offer, for instance, additional damage against a specific type of enemy. This is particularly useful for characters that have reached a stage at which they are likely to encounter the same type of monster in dungeons repeatedly.

A ring that is infused can grant the ability to resist piercing, bludgeoning, or slashing damage from non-magical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This can be particularly helpful for combatants who are melee or anyone who wishes to get rid of the expense and hassle of buying an armor.

Certain items enchanted by magic have special powers which allow the character to cast spells in addition to those on their class's list of spells. This can be useful for characters who have difficulties keeping their spell slots full due to multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the amount of Intelligence point expended.

Other items that are enchanted can let the user change their appearance, or even create a new appearance. These are particularly beneficial for those who have to leave their home, or are in a situation that they aren't welcomed. A magical item may give them the ability to disappear or make them invisible for everyone except the chosen person.

Utility Items

Utility items are those that don't fall into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and have a range of different capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor, no one utility item can conflict with another. Most utility items provide a passive effect that the player can activate by using them but some have additional abilities that are activated when the user presses the button or activates an ability.

The Flashlight is the most commonly used utility item. It lights up the area around it. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to float in the air while moving and the Jetpack, which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. A variety of utility items can be instantly manufactured in the Engineering section while others can be unlocked through Research projects or experimental projects at the Proving Ground.

Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to those that are available in their normal inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items are upgradeable to increase their effectiveness.

Most utility items enhance a specific combat attribute or give the player some kind of navigation advantage. Sharpening stones, crafted by a Weaponsmith can boost power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils, made by a Huntsman will increase concentration and healing power. Other items that are useful can be utilized by players to boost Damage or Condition Damage.

All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one utilitarian item at the start of the campaign. Eventually, an additional slot can be obtained by equipping certain types of armor or by completing engineering, research or other projects in the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which lets the player equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade can be placed in the main grenade slot.
