It is also more difficult to fold than many of the competitors and it doesn't lock tightly when folded. It is easy to maneuver however, and is able to fit through narrow 28 inches doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents who want an affordable second stroller for their travels. It scored highly in our Strollers & Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions. This means it's lightweight, compact when folded, and easy to carry and put in a trunk for your car. It also has the option of reclining in multiple positions and a parent cup holder. Other key features include two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.

In our test of the push and turn it performed better than the majority of other strollers of a similar price we tried, but it's not the easiest to maneuver over uneven ground or through narrow doorways. The sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only direct overhead coverage, and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have larger canopy sizes.

The Delta took us just over 3 minutes to put together using an average manual and all of the components required tools. It's missing certain features we consider essential in a double stroller. This includes an extra-large basket, reclining seats, and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the latest model in Maxi-Cosi's range of pushchairs and is billed as an urban travel system. It can be used from birth to around 3.5-years-old. It is really easy to maneuver, and the one-hand reclining of the seat as well as the huge shopping basket make it easy for parent-tots to get the child out and in quickly. Despite this being quite a small pushchair, it was able to handle the bumps of everyday life well and slid through doors without any fuss.

The front wheels can be locked in a forward position or let them swivel which is helpful when traversing rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel while walking along an uneven path. It handled the situation well, although it seemed a little rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is best known for its 3-wheeled, all-terrain, strollers for jogging. However, they also make a broad range of 4-wheeler pushchairs. City Tour 2 is their most popular model. It is simple to fold and fits easily into the car's boot even with a carrycot attached.

It's heavier than other strollers we test, but since it comes with rubber composite wheels it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It's a breeze to maneuver across all types of terrain and it's easy to move even with two kids and a shopping bag.

The carrycot and seat both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are waterproof and strong, unlike some other prams' hoods that get whipped back into toddlers faces.

It does not have much storage space but it has a large, deep basket to hold a change bag or plenty of food. You can also pair it with the Baby Jogger car seat for babies who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you need a stroller that can be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of many parents when it first debuted. It's an aluminum-framed stroller which can be used from the infant's earliest days through. It has many standout features, like the ability of the seat to be flipped between the front facing parent and the outside, a large UPF50+ canopy, an eye-shade that flips out, as well as an adjustable handlebar.

The chassis is equipped with an integrated suspension system which reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made of tough foam, which reduces punctures. It was easy to push, and our tester was able manoeuvre the vehicle through narrow streets.

The canopy/seat has two large fixed or flip-out sun visors and both are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn't great - it's not as silent as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is a side-byside stroller and can be configured to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to 22kg maximum per seat). It can be used with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode seats, the seats can be positioned so that they face each other. They can also be positioned towards the parents. This will help reduce sibling arguments over who gets seated with dad and mom. It comes with a large bottle holder, a gear tray as well as snack trays and an adjustable mat. It also has a folding stand that folds down and a frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2
