For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you're at work or in school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty the areas tend to be.
