Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb, with the robot mop being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only issue it has is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed - but just a glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance tasks must be completed including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaner and mop cleaners could miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean the objects without a pause.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular style is striking and has just three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.

The only negative I found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also has an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by repeated back-andforth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple to use and understand The X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it overflows, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market, but it packs in a lot of extra features that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.

Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum best vacuums and mop models and it could be a useful method to keep your home hygienic for longer.

There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are numerous features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles instead of relying on an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg however it's not overly heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
