World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade allows players to boost an item's gear rating up 700 points, and then add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like perfect made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats like the chance to crit, attack damage as well as PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Additionally some weapons come with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the gun will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.

Armor items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. This can boost the defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain when upgrading along with the values of these stats. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button on the item menu, using the arrows that circle. This will reroll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poisons and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the greater health you will get from each point. So, it's best to upgrade items your armor.

To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a special side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you'll need at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few of your friends.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to work on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be beneficial to have a few improvements to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. Additionally the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or in the chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price is dependent on the type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item level upgrade's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI where you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. Trinkets

A trinket is a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a function but isn't important, like a trinket. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to show affection or friendship between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying new ones. It is possible to upgrade the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the old trinket but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded once they're not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
