Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or received from chests or missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must select it, and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the required component or material needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of the item's name. For example adding the suffix Glyph will transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools If a player replaces one glyph by another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, with the exception of inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from the previous versions in a few important ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of these items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This will enable the item upgrade to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it can receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require an amount of Flightstones and crests depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item fails to reach its max level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material however it will have a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a building engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement against an established reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering an item level upgrade's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item upgrade. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be handled with care.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more often than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for all stats. This can be a good or bad thing dependent on your needs and requirements from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special bonus that increases the power of the item by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the better your chances of receiving the bonus of a different kind.

The game also comes with a number of sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on an item. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to gain a stronger character faster, which allows you to advance in the game and achieve higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They can have various sizes, contain none at all, or contain just one element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways in terms of size and shape.

There are a variety of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense value and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already extensive.

Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs that can be beneficial in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to parity with the levels. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item as well as the required items to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when they are fully updated. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended as it will provide a significant increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense value of armor that has a newer appearance.
