What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

In addition to the stat boosts certain upgrades can also provide a random boost. These boosts can be quite useful and should be taken into consideration when deciding on which items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are only beneficial in certain builds (such as Whistan's shield in FB sorcs) while others can provide significant value to certain collectors.

Certain items come with a built-in boos, which is less beneficial when upgraded. For example the Goldwrap has an extra slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to inject more value into an item that is perfect or close to being perfect.

Costs

There are a few expenses that are associated with upgrades to items. The first cost is the upgrade itself. The cost is based on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it receives and is often expensive. It is also costly to upgrade an item to a better tier (such as Explorer > Champion or Veteran > Heroic).

The other is the cost of the materials needed to upgrade. These items are usually Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. The amount of these items needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It could take as long as 8 hours, depending on the size of the upgrade. The base stats of an upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl and other properties. In some instances the upgrade will provide additional benefits that can be chosen from a list of available advantages.

In rare cases the upgrade will only replace the most expensive bonuses. Sometimes, the upgrader will make other changes to an item, like changing the type of weapon damage or removing or adding an operative or unwieldy property. These modifications are based on the item's ilvl, and may require special materials, for instance adamantine.

Success Rate

The upgrading of an item is based on the chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it will not succeed. However, there are some things that can help to increase the chance of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of additional components to your upgrade.

An Upgrade Pity is a product that you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of the upgrade being successful by a percentage. This is similar to the luck bonus that some items have, but is more stable. It can be added to any weapon or armor and can be used up to three times.

It is also possible to add a number of additional items to the upgrade, increasing its chance of success. These materials are displayed in a window located above the + button. However, there are some limitations to this, and the maximum amount of material that can be added is displayed just above the + button in the UI.

Another way to increase the chance of an upgrade succeeding is by using the item known as Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is helpful if you have an item of gear that has reached the maximum level for its tier or is close to it. It will let you upgrade that piece of gear to the next level without worrying about breaking.

If an upgrade fails the upgrade will be reversed to its original state. This is typically a break, but could also be an upgrade. Save an upgrade until you reach the maximum level of an item.
