WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade items also boosts a random substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The Item level Upgrade upgrader lets players upgrade items their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Crests

Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
