If you're on a budget and don't need a stroller that can double into a car seat carrier, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It features a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's easy to push and it is solid when traversing kerbs and woodland trails. Plus, it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the ultimate lightweight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, thanks to its nimble maneuverability and foldable design that can be tucked away in the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. The latest version comes with independent suspension on all four wheels, made from Hytrel Elastomer, which allows it to effortlessly navigate across all types of surfaces and terrain'.

The bent fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 and the 6months of colour pack come together to create a stylish pushchair with a subtle elegant design. The frame itself weighs just over a kilogram and is so light that you can lift it directly from the box (and do so one-handed).

It's also easy to add or remove attachments, adaptors, or adaptors - the hood, for instance, snaps onto the YOYO2 using reassuring clicks and is machine washable to help deter staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into a stroller from 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a fantastic choice for parents who want a stroller that can be used in a variety of ways. It can be converted from a stroller into a wagon by simply turning the handle, which means parents can select the option they want to use on their journey. The wagon is able to accommodate two or more children between 6 months to 5 years old. It comes with a large storage basket that can accommodate everything you need on the go.

The Xplore comes with two canopy options that can rotate from front to back, offering adequate sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than other wagons. This may not be suitable for long trips or naps.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy however, it isn't able to bend as much as other wagons that we test. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the other models, and it does not secure when folded. It is easy to move however, and it can fit through narrow doors of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents who want an affordable, second-hand travel stroller. It scored highly in our Strollers and Multiples Test for weight and folded dimensions. This means it's lightweight, compact when folded, and easy to move and store in a trunk of a car. It also has a multi-position reclining seat and an adult cup holder. Other important features include two large hanging storage bags as well as 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.

In our push and turn test it performed better than many of the other cheap strollers we tried, but it's not the most maneuverable on uneven terrain or through narrow doorways. Its sunshades were among the smallest of all strollers we test. They only cover the top single strollers, and don't have windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have significantly larger canopies.

The Delta took us just under 3 minutes to put together with an average manual and all of the components required tools. It is missing certain features we consider essential for double strollers. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and leg rests that can be adjusted.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the latest version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is billed as an urban travel system. It is designed to accommodate baby from birth up to approximately 3.5 years old, easily changing between a seat and a carrycot in just only a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes complete with the light Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible baby carriage.

The seat reclines with one hand and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to help their child in and out. This compact pushchair can handle everyday bumps and doorways with ease.

The front wheels can be locked in a forward position or allow them to swivel which can be helpful when crossing rough terrain. On our walk along the stony path we let them move and it performed well although it did seem a little bumpier than others on test.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is a household name for their 3-wheeler, all-terrain pushchairs for jogging, but they also make a good assortment of strollers with four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most popular model. It is simple to use and folds down small enough to fit in a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It is heavier than the other strollers that we tried, but because it comes with rubber composite wheels it feels solid and well-constructed. It is easy to maneuver on various terrains and even with two kids as well as a shopping bag and other things.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that are able to be lower to reveal a UV50+ sun canopy extension. They are durable and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back onto toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space, but it comes with a large, deep basket to accommodate a changing bag or plenty of food. You can also connect it with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies up to 20 lb (car seat and adapters sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a excellent choice if you wish to take a stroller with you on the move.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of a lot of parents when it first debuted. It's an aluminum-framed stroller that can be used from the infant's earliest days through. It is a standout model with many unique features, like the capacity of the seat to be turned between the parent and the world and a huge UPF50+ canopy, an eye shade that flips out, and an adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are strong and filled with foam which minimizes punctures. The chassis is equipped with built-in suspension which takes the sting out of bumpy terrain. It was easy to push and our test driver was able to maneuver the vehicle through narrow streets.

It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also be folded and stood up for easier transport down the stairs or in the trunk of the car. The travel system comes available with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot by using the adaptors that are included. The brakes come with a single action and are color coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is simple to use and has a great dual suspension. It can be folded by one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It is also lightweight and durable. The seat can be reclined into a variety of different positions. It also comes with a double breathable mattress built in that is suitable for infants.

The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors, which can be either fixed or flipped out. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't the best because it's not as quiet as Velcro, and can awaken napping babies.

The Duet is a stroller with an angled design that can accommodate twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and even can be used with carrycots. In twin-mode, the seats can be facing each other or turn around and face the parents, theoretically cutting down on sibling rivalries over who gets to sit with dad and mom. It comes with a large gear tray, a bottle holder and snack trays. It also has a superior compact stand fold and automatic frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger for parents who like to stay active. It's one of the lightest strollers that you can purchase for your child. It also comes with excellent safety features, including a 5-point safety harness as well as a wrist safety strap. It also comes with a twist hand brake which is different than the lever type that is found on other models.

The seat is well-padded and has plenty of room to sit in, however the depth of the seat is not as deep as other joggers that we've tested (it's about 10"). The storage bin has an open-top rated single strollers cover that can be closed to keep items safe. It can hold up to 10 lbs. This is enough for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters that will fit the majority of bassinets and car seats for infants however, you can use them starting from the first day with adapters that will fit brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds compactly and takes 5-10 minutes to assemble without tools. The user manual is easy to read and comes in a variety of languages.
