When I tried the S1, it was quick to map our downstairs, which is home to Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, along with carpeting of medium-pile as well as a large area rug. It easily drove close to walls without colliding with them, and was able to traverse thresholds that were raised in the room without issue, though it occasionally had trouble navigating down stairs in a single pass. The S1 also did an excellent job cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop smoothly on the flat side against the floor and then lifting itself when it was near carpet or rugs.

The docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and replenishes its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. The dock provides a deep-cleaning solution for the water. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however this will differ dependent on how often you use the mop.

The S1 requires regular maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. To do this, you'll need to rinse out the dirty water tank occasionally to keep it from becoming clogged. It is also necessary to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to keep them from getting clogged by dirt or dust. However, overall, the S1 is simple to maintain, particularly compared to other combos that require more hands-on maintenance.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-one robot mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a reliable option for your cleaning requirements. The Ecovacs robot vacuum comes with 8,700Pa suction power and comes with a number advanced features like voice control and smart path planning that cleans around furniture and eliminates obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it, rather than just moving a pad across the surface. The mops can be dried and cleaned at the base station when required.

This robot combo has a simple interface that guides you through the process. It also comes with a hand vacuum that can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does well at vacuuming, with a strong suction that easily picks up most of the debris, and even smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also pretty good, although it can be stuck on small area mats and rugs in my home (which you can reduce by creating virtual boundaries in the app). Mopping capabilities are very good, with a pair spinning mops which are able to lift and scrub floors instead of drag the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned with hot water and dried in the basestation as needed. The mops are also filled at the top of the station if they are required.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame released the luxe X30 Ultra earlier this year however their latest top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum has more impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-free maintenance which makes it a strong contender for our top robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a longer side brush ensure a thorough, custom-designed clean.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, removing both fine and large debris. It is a great choice on carpets and hard floors. It cleaned the dirtiest places of our tests well while avoiding pet hairs and other messes. The sweeping capability of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush that automatically moves out to reach areas that are difficult to reach, and mop pads that extend across baseboards.

Its navigation system is intelligent, navigating narrow spaces and climbing the stairs without a hitch. It can move from one room to another without having to reverse direction, which is a handy feature for homes with multiple rooms. The Q5 is one of the few robots we tested that didn't have any issues with high-pile carpets or area rugs, but it couldn't clean up cables or kitty litter and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise considering it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

K10 Plus is one of the most quiet robovacs that we have tested. It also has a unique method to map your home, which will allow it to enter places that other vacuums cannot reach.
