It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one pass. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops - why not try this out, in our test, but it has some unique features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its massive dock which doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.

The base also comes with a set of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it is entangled in an obstacle, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't work until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert in its app.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy models.
