However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin auto-refilling.

The only issue I have discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.

The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
