Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item are improved through upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at once to gauge each item upgrades's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be done through a number of means that include the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.

Upgradable items can be found in the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. Upgrade components are the main way to upgrade equipment. These are items that can slot into equipment. Most equipment has slots for upgrading and some require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others provide general bonuses.

There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, are able to be used in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item upgrader kit's gathering to providing extra crafting material.

Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The window will show an overview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, along with any materials or components required. If you don't possess enough of either, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The amount of upgrade components needed for a specific item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but can be reduced by many different methods, including purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded using the use of a prefix upgrade like an insignia or a rune, and many can be upgraded with a suffix upgrade. These upgrades alter the name of the item, adding an adjective, such as "Radiant" or "Minor vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods in any way.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to convey visual information. They move to grab the viewer's eye and entice curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language, making them more effective in transmitting the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph has a range of values that it could increase a stat's value in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph could improve a stat by but not the amount it actually increases the stat by. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier as well as the quality of the item you are in awe of.

Most upgrade components slotted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a non-useful rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item that it was installed in however, you can salvage the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards so this should not be considered as a loss.

The addition of a glyph to an Best item upgrade can cause it to become unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also add an inscription to your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This is helpful for players who suffer lots of damage from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mysterious boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens are also a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon that can be upgraded to increase damage or other perks.

Rerolled items do not appear in the menu of item upgrades, but they can still be upgraded. If you click the "upgrade button" you can recycle the rerolled items. This will alter the appearance of the window for the item, and allow up to six items be chosen for recycling. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined based on the item's rarity and its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. A reroll will roll the % chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it is lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolling is a fantastic option to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware that the total ilvl is decreased by the number of the rerolls required to bring it to the final level. This lowering effect is most effective for Diadems and ring items, which have no other options for raising ilvls.

The system of rerolls has been criticised by players for being expensive and it's more fair to let people pay for it with money or a food item which would allow players to alter their builds without a lot of time and effort. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this stage of the game's development. Instead, they're planning to add an ability to change races in the future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first way to level up an upgrade for an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of an upgrade for any stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for the stat. Additionally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. Once this is done the new item will keep its iLevel, but will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases the chance of a better roll will come from the glyphs, however there are also opportunities for greater or special rolls. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type and if you upgrade a unique or rare item to an exceptional item type, it will have a chance to gain a higher iLevel.

The cost of upgrading items can be expensive, particularly when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The cost will depend on the item's base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels it offers. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next upgrade level.

If you're fortunate, your upgraded item may attain the highest level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level however. In general the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.

Depending on the item's base level and its upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item upgrader mod will change as well. For instance the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to a rare or exceptional item will be able to be upgraded to the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
