WoW Upgrades - The item upgrading Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item upgrading however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrade upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with numerous new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items are from a different set of equipment.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
