World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the item to which it is applied (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade items using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure how much it will be improved following an update.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.

In the final game you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Using a Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item level upgrade.

When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could increase in price even if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough tokens to be able to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a different set of bonus bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can use up a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is very valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to go to its original condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any gained bonuses, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or speed of reload). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will need to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade requires the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
