BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from putting in an additional key or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system since it requires a correct PIN code to begin the engine.

The Ghost is unique to other immobilisers in that it doesn't use key-fobs or LED indicators. Instead, it makes use of your vehicle's existing buttons to allow you to select a unique disarm sequence that only you are aware of.

Stop & Start

If you've ever driven a BMW or used its stop-start feature, you might have noticed that the engine continues to run for about 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to watch the vehicle for a signal emanating from the ignition key. Once it finds this the vehicle will continue to operate. Our BMW ghost immobiliser is an innovative next-generation device that doesn't require cutting OEM wires or adding an aftermarket alarms or key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with an unique PIN code that can be accessed by buttons in your car. This lets you enter a specific key push sequence that isn't present in the standard menus for media, like volume up/down or source, cruise control or air conditioning on and stops your car from starting until the sequence is entered. The PIN can range between 4 and 20 numbers and is therefore difficult for thieves to determine or crack.

We can also add a service/valet mode. This mode is activated when your car is being serviced so that the Ghost is away from the garage. You can activate this mode by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment system (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically arm itself when you return.

Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for high-end vehicles. Service / Valet Mode

The Ghost is the leading immobiliser available. It prevents your vehicle from being taken by hacking or key cloning. It works by using the vehicles factory buttons to create an individual sequence of pushes which only you can recognize, similar to like pin code security on your mobile phone. It's subtle, extremely effective and deters even the most obstinate thieves!

If you are parked at home or in a meeting and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This allows you to start the vehicle using your keys, but it stops the engine from restarting until the correct code has been entered. This is a great option for those who need to hand their cars over to valet services or other trusted friends and family members. It also allows you to get the car into the garage for maintenance or repairs without having to worry about it being tampered with or stolen by a mechanic whilst you wait.

Once the service/valet mode is enabled when the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW is unable to drive once it has been turned on. This will stop anyone else from testing driving it while you're away. After you return, the car will revert to normal and will not be tampered or stolen again.

The Ghost can be fitted to any BMW. All you require are the correct keys, as the device does not utilize the original remotes, but can be used in conjunction with them. When the anti-hijacking feature is activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. The system will hone the horn flashing the indicators, and stop the vehicle in the event that the code cannot be found. The Anti-Hijack feature can be cancelled by entering your push sequence or by enabling service mode, which allows your car to begin and drive, without having to enter your PIN.

If you own an GPS device that is connected to your BMW and you want to use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to navigate using your navigation system even when the vehicle is parked. You can also use your smartphone to control the anti theft feature, as well as other functions.

The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a personal pin code is programmed in it. This pin code has to be selected prior to the engine starting. This prevents thieves from using a cloned key or replacing the ECU to disable this system.
