Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer at a modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time with a full dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and Robot vacuum cleaner vacuum well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly application that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you can decide to let the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, just a glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's avoided.

You can also view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand although we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.

It's the most expensive robot hoover and mop I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I've discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to take off the mount itself to wash manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It will also tell you whether the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market and comes with numerous extra features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also automatic vacuum and mop up pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a fantastic feature because it prevents the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a useful method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options to customize your cleaning routine. It also has many features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
