Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual can get you running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you could decide to let the robot clean up the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that must be completed including emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is capable of operating for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the automatic vacuum cleaner and mop capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood however we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop and best automatic vacuum and mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year this one has two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could miss.

The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its course automatically and clean them without stumbling.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is striking, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can bring the Robot vacuum cleaners Best to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin auto-refilling.

The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its innovative design lets you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. The robot vacuum that mops can also reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it a great option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice addition that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by excessive back-and-forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it a great option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available and comes with many extra features that distinguish it from. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.

The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There's a plethora of settings on offer which include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. These can be set via the app, or via buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
