Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one session without the need to switch between devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its affordable price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent and the robot vacuum that mops is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only issue it has is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood however we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. This year's model has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only issue I have discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its smart design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also very quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another noteworthy feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean curved furniture like table and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to avoid areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has several features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is an excellent feature as it stops the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other best robot vacuum cleaner and mop vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's a plethora of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are many functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
