However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work, or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. 3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot vacuum best in our tests that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. If you're willing with a little more noise and a little more cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. 5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the robot vacuums best mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to organize an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for better performance. The app also provides access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
