The use of more jewels in a move will make it more smooth, and is often done for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than metal so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.

In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades, the player can also obtain glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be freely exchanged, however they're not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs are also removed and returned to the inventory. Trinkets

The first trinket that a player will unlock is the cloak. It grants a small, but useful bonus in movement speed and the ability to escape. After that, they'll be able to acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player can acquire armor and weapons. Every piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be placed in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with certain kinds of trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that are active whenever the hero is not fighting. This allows a hero to become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also make up for the absence of excellent team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by a hero's top stats.
