WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be bought by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the item upgrade's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Crests

This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one purpose, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you have available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
