What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader is an additional widget at the top of both the Angel and Cash Upgrade Windows. This Manager is a cost of 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no gameplay benefit other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Boosters

Costs

Upgrades have certain costs associated with them. The first is the cost of performing the upgrade. This price is contingent on the item's new ilvl and the amount of perks it will gain and can be costly. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.

The second is the cost of the materials needed for an upgrade. The items used are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21+) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable through completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The quantity of these items required can be seen in the inventory of an upgrade item vendor.

Upgrades to an item are complicated and takes time. Based on the magnitude of the upgrade, it could take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated by using the new ilvl of the item bonuses, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other vital statistics. In certain cases, the upgrade will grant additional perks that can be selected from a list of perks.
